Social Cohesion, is the understanding that groups will remain united when faced with a common objective or goal. There has been much research which has been interested in looking at how cohesion is generated amongst groups and what forms movement can act as a trigger for allowing cohesion to develop. The aim of this research was to investigate the view that synchronised movement increases cohesive behaviour between individuals. The experiment involved participants being paired together with people they did not know and were given the task of either marching on the spot or walking around the university campus together.
