Les Formes Réactives de l'Oxygène (FRO) regroupent des molécules comme les radicaux superoxide (O₂•⁻) et hydroxyle (HO•) ou le peroxyde d'hydrogène (H₂O₂) produites au sein des cellules en aérobiose. Malgré des systèmes de défense, des FRO peuvent réagir fortuitement avec des protéines, des lipides ou l'ADN provoquant des dommages cellulaires dont les mécanismes ne sont pas encore entièrement élucidés. Afin d'appréhender ce "stress oxydant", cette thèse présente des simulations numériques de la dynamique de FRO en utilisant la bactérie E. coli comme organisme modèle.
