Les alliages de zirconium sont utilisés comme matériaux de gainage dans les Réacteurs à Eau Pressurisée. Or, en fonctionnement, la corrosion et l’hydruration sont des facteurs limitant l’utilisation des alliages Zircaloy-4 et sont à l’origine du développement de l’alliage Zr-1Nb. Afin d’améliorer notre compréhension du comportement de ces matériaux, deux problématiques ont été abordées : la détermination de leurs mécanismes respectifs de prise d’hydrogène et de l’impact des hydrures sur la corrosion du Zircaloy-4.
