La technique Imagerie par Contraste de Canalisation d'Electron (ECCI) est utilisée en microscopie électronique à balayage (MEB) pour visualiser et caractériser des défauts cristallins tels que les dislocations. L’ECCI nécessite l'orientation, avec grande précision (meilleure que 0,1°), du cristal à analyser par rapport au faisceau d’électrons pour satisfaire les conditions très strictes de canalisation d'électrons.
