La biogéochimie, l'écologie et l'évolution de la tolérance et de l'accumulation du cuivre (Cu) et du cobalt (Co) chez les métallophytes facultatives restent à ce jour peu connues. Anisopappus chinensis (Asteraceae), espèce végétale à large amplitude écogéographique, a été sélectionné comme modèle biologique. Les concentrations de Cu et de Co liées respectivement aux oxydes de manganèse et à la matière organique dans les sols métallifères pourraient représenter une concentration disponible de Cu et de Co pour les plantes.
