L’Afrique de l’Ouest subit l'invasion rapide de la tique du bétail associée aux plus fortes pertes économiques au monde : Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus. Cette tique a été accidentellement introduite au Bénin et en Côte d’Ivoire en 2006. En 2011, des éleveurs burkinabés se plaignent de l’impossibilité de contrôler de très fortes infestations de leurs troupeaux par des tiques (entrainant morbidité et perte de poids du bétail) : il s’agit de R. microplus. Cette thèse poursuit deux objectifs clefs pour la détermination de mesures de protection de la santé du bétail.
