National audienceThis article studies the use of trickery in two tragi-comedies denouements : Cornélie by A. Hardy and Winter’s Tale by W. Shakespeare. Tricking is a paradoxical mean to recognition because disguising the truth helps its revelation. The use of tricks stresses several topics from the apology of theatre during the sixteenth and the seventeenth centuries : the cure of the melancholic imaginations by parting the true from the false ; the tribute to artistic craftness, especially the power of deceiving the audience for its own good. Finally, those cunning recognitions question the nature of tragi-comic meraviglia and stress out an ironic, profane and disenchanted definition : meraviglia is neither miracle, nor magic.Cet article é...
