La régénération musculaire implique des interactions fonctionnelles entre différents types de cellules mononucléées. Parmi elles, citons les progéniteurs myogéniques (MPs), qui fusionnent pour générer de nouvelles myofibres en réponse à une blessure, et les cellules immunitaires qui envahissent les muscles endommagés.
