La connaissance du rayonnement solaire, ou irradiation solaire, à la surface de la Terre est d’un grand intérêt dans de nombreux domaines. Cependant le développement de systèmes utilisant l’énergie solaire nécessitent des données sur le rayonnement solaire denses (spatialement et temporellement) et suffisamment précises pour simuler, concevoir, gérer et optimiser le fonctionnement de ces systèmes.
