A l'heure où les matériaux composites prennent une part toujours plus importante dans les structures aéronautiques, l'utilisation de l'alliage d'aluminium-lithium 2050 assemblé par Friction Stir Welding (FSW) est envisagé pour remplacer les structures rivetées en alliages d'aluminium traditionnels.
