Après exposition par inhalation, les nanoparticules (NPs) peuvent atteindre les alvéoles pulmonaires, se retrouver au niveau de la barrière alvéolo-capillaire (BAC), et induire une toxicité locale et / ou franchir cette barrière pour se retrouver dans la circulation sanguine.
