Nous avons introduit, dans cette thèse, une représentation physique du soulèvement des poussières désertiques sur le Sahara, basée sur les travaux de Marticorena and Bergametti (1995) pour le calcul du flux horizontal des poussières et de Alfaro and Gomes (2001) pour le calcul du flux vertical de poussières optimisé par Menut et al.(2005). Pour valider le calcul du soulèvement de poussières dans le modèle LMDZ, nous avons utilisé la version”Chimere-dust” du modèle de chimie-transport Chimere. Les vents horizontaux des réanalyses ERA-I sont également utilisés pour guider le modèle LMDZ. L’ émission dépend de façon très non linéaire des tensions de vent en surface.
