La formation comme lieu d'une industrialisation

International audienceThe writer intends to analyse the possible meanings given to industrialization in the training sector. The use of this concept requires prudence and it can be better examined by referring to the tertiary sector of economy.Industrialization can certainly concern production (homogenizing products, analysing and simplifying them, cowering the costs by using transformation technologies). In fact there are other ways of innoving which are not technological but nearer to the development of services, particulary those which attempt to standardize proceedings and to alter the role of the teacher. From transmitter of knowledge as he used to be, he becomes an engineer in the training system, an assistant and intermediary in a well-defined procedure.Furthermore, just as it is in the tertiary sector, all the products are devised for the user so as to make him contribute more to the service. The Do-It-Yourself system tries to bring the cu st omer to assume the use and the maintenance himself, even if he has to be over-assisted. Giving the consumer his share in the realization of the product is the constant aim of this kind of industrialization : competition brings the products to be more valuable by showing how various their uses can be.As this way of producing goes against mass-production it can only be realized if a new sociallink is developed between the performer and the consumer in a « relational economy ».L'auteur se propose d'analyser en quels sens on peut parler d'industrialisation à propos du secteur de la formation. L'usage de ce concept exige de la prudence et c'est en se référant à l'économie des services qu'on l'exploitera le mieux.L'industrialisation peut certes concerner la production (homogénéisation des produits, définition d'objectifs décomposés et rationalisés, baisse des coûts grâce à l'utilisation de technologies de transformation...). En fait il existe d'autres innovations que technologiques, plus proches de l'évolution des services, notamment celles qui visent à standardiser les procédures et qui modifient le rôle du formateur. De transmetteur de savoir qu'il était, celui-ci devient ingénieur d'un système de formation, accompagnateur et médiateur dans une procédure définie.Mais encore, tout comme dans l'industrie de services, on se centre plus sur le bénéficiaire en le faisant participer davantage au service lui-même. Le self-service essaie de développer la prise en charge de l'usage par l'usager lui-même, quitte à le sur-assister. Intégrer le consommateur dans la phase de conception du produit est une constante de cette industrialisation: la concurrence amène à valoriser le produit par ses usages, en montrant leur diversité. Une telle « démassification » du produit est possible si un nouveau lien social entre le prestataire et le consommateur est mis en place, dans une « économie relationnelle »
