Devenir père grâce au don de spermatozoïdes

The building of the paternal identity consciousness of unfertile men asking for the help of a donor is a subject which hasn t been very often studied. That s why we had semi-directed interviews, with fifteen men, evolving in the different stages of this journey in 2016, at the Human Sperm Conservation and Study Center of Caen Universitary Hospital. It turns out that men manage to build their paternal identity with some difficulties, usually well explained. Indeed, there are plenty of reconsiderations. Accepting infertility remains the most difficult step to overcome. Overall, undergoing sperm donation is well accepted and tends to be a solution for these couples. Furthermore, in spite of the strong need to invest the pregnancy, it seems to contribute to an assumed fatherhood. Lastly, when the child is born, men live a fulfilled paternity.La construction de l'identité paternelle des hommes infertiles, ayant recours à un donneur, est un sujet peu étudié. Nous avons donc mené des entretiens semi-dirigés auprès de quinze hommes, inscrits au CECOS du CHU de Caen, à différents stades du parcours, en 2016. Il ressort que les hommes parviennent à construire leur identité paternelle avec certaines difficultés, de manière générale, bien explicitées. En effet, les remises en question sont nombreuses. L'acceptation de l'infertilité reste l'étape la plus difficile à franchir. Globalement, le recours au don est bien accepté et apparait comme une solution pour ces couples. Par ailleurs, malgré le besoin intense d'investir la grossesse, cette dernière semble contributive d'une paternité assumée. Enfin, à la naissance de l'enfant, les hommes vivent une paternité épanouie
