International audienceIt has been observed, as well as to explain received reinforcements (LOC) as to explain behaviors (attribution), that we generally use internal causes. This accentuation of the actor’s weight has been considered, first as an error (Ross, 1977), then as a norm (for Beauvois, 1984, this accentuation would be socially valued). However it has been shown that this increase of value is not systematic, and that, for example, the teachers declaring oneself responsible for the rewards and punishments that they distribute to their students are depreciated by these students (Gangloff, 2004).
