Le but de cette thèse est l’étude des processus d’altération naturelle et artificielle pour comprendre les mécanismes géochimiques mis en œuvre et la variation des phases minérales dans les verres naturels altérés. Pour la première fois, cinq échantillons de verre volcanique de compositions différentes provenant de la Sicile orientale (Italie), ont été collectés afin d’être soumis à une altération expérimentale puis analysés. L’utilisation d’échantillons volcaniques vitreux a permis d’obtenir des poudres et des lames composées par du verre silicaté non altéré, aptes à une altération expérimentale en laboratoire et l’étude des processus géochimiques qui ont eu lieu.
