Context. Out-of hospital sudden cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a major public health issue. The concept of “chain of survival” and the installation of automated external defibrillators have increased the survival rate. What about the chances of survival for sufferers of OHCA in Caen, and what can be done as primary care to improve the survival rate of patients? Methods. We conducted a retrospective study about OHAC in the area where the SMUR (EMS) of Caen operate between January 2014 and December 2017. A statistical survey was then carried out on OHAC from presumed cardiac origin, in order to determine the survival after one month and to analyze the factors of good or bad prognosis. Results. Over a period of 4 years, among the 742 OHAC registered...
