Pour certains, l’arythmie sinusale respiratoire (ASR) est liée à la dépression intrathoracique inspiratoire et à la mise en jeu du baroréflexe. Pour d’autres, elle est liée aux centres respiratoires bulbaires, via la modulation cyclique des activités sympathiques et vagales. Nous avons analysé la genèse de l’ASR en étudiant l’effet d’une inversion du régime de pression intrathoracique (ventilation mécanique) sur la variabilité respiratoire des signaux cardiovasculaires (fréquence cardiaque et pression artérielle) et le baroréflexe. Nous avons montré que la ventilation en pression positive est bien associée à une inversion de la variabilité respiratoire de la pression artérielle, qui reconnait surtout des déterminants mécaniques.
