In Ethiopia with the increasing of population and the scarcity of available land, most of the agricultural lands become construction sites. Such agricultural lands are black cotton soil which has high swelling and shrinkage property when exposed to changes moisture content and poor in shear strength, the soil should be treated or replaced by a suitable material to improve its mechanical property before any construction work is undertaken.
