The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different levels of supplementary protein on the productive performance, ingestive behavior and blood parameters of heifers during the water period. Forty Nellore heifers with initial average live weight of 191 ± 16.65 kg and 13 months of age were used and distributed in a completely randomized design in a rotational grazing system with Magathyrsus maximus. The treatments consisted of four protein levels in the supplement: 0% PB (mineral), 11.4; 18.4 and 27.2 g PB/100 kg PV/day.
