Arizona Oil and Gas Well Location Maps and Report

This publication includes a booklet of data from all recorded oil, gas, helium, and geothermal wells and from other deep wells. Two maps accompany the booklet. One is a map of the entire State that shows the locations of wells tabulated in the booklet and of crude oil, gas, and product pipelines in Arizona. Areas in which wells are closely spaced are detailed on the second map. INFORMATION PROVIDED This list of 1,247 wells was printed from a database maintained by the Oil and Gas Administrator at the Arizona Geological Survey. The list includes wells permitted by the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission since its inception in 1959, wells permitted by the State Land Department before 1959, and other wells for which information was obtained from various sources. The map is useful if you know the general geographic area in which a well is located but not its section, township, or range. Once you have identified the section, township, and range on the map; search for the corresponding values in the booklet. The information in the booklet is only a portion of that which is available in the files of the Oil and Gas Program of the Arizona Geological Survey. These files include information on every well listed, such as drilling records, electric logs, mud logs, and sample descriptions. All the files are public records and may be reviewed and copied in the Survey's office. The column titled "SAMP" contains an index number that identifies the box or boxes of samples or core chips on file. Responsible parties may review these samples after making suitable arrangements with the Oil and Gas Administrator.OG-12 was initially constructed in 1972 and published as OG Well Location Map 4. Between 1972 and 1990 the report and maps were updated as needed to show new well locations. In 1990, OG-4 was reissued as OG-12, Arizona Oil and Gas Well Location Maps and Report.
