Land subsidence and earth fissures have been part of the landscape of southern and south central Arizona for at least the past seventy years. With urban growth now expanding into former agricultural and undeveloped desert lands, the geologic hazards related to subsidence and fissures are being steadily encroached upon with detrimental and costly impacts. There is a growing need for information and tools to deal with these hazards.Documents in the AZGS Document Repository collection are made available by the Arizona Geological Survey (AZGS) and the University Libraries at the University of Arizona.
