An analysis of the environmental impact statement of the Warm Springs Dam Project

The passage of the National Environmental Policy Act on January 1, 1970, required all federal agencies to prepare environmental impact statements on major federal projects. This study is an assessment of the Environmental Impact Statement of the Warm Springs Dam Project, a dam proposed for a tributary of the Russian River in Sonoma County, California. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the use of information in the EIS process. Each agency is required to analyze information on each project to alert the public about any serious environmental consequences. It is concluded that the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers has experienced a learning process in the preparation of the EIS on the Warm Springs Project. Their subsequent Supplement to the EIS shows serious consideration of information which shows the adverse consequences of the Warm Springs Dam Project.hydrology collectio
