A flexible beam, in this study, is attached to a rigid hub and contacts with a friction surface. According to the relative velocity between the tip of the beam and the friction surface, the dynamic state of the beam is separated into stick state and slip state. From the governing equation of the beam and the boundary conditions corresponding to each state, equations of motion for two states are derived. The equations of motion are solved alternately to obtain the dynamic responses of stick-slip vibration. Since the stick-slip vibration is well known to be associated with squeak noise, the results of dynamic analysis can provide useful information to friction-induced noise problems
