Anatomic conditions and the physiology of the sympathetic nerve are treated as prerequisite to a successful blockade, and the present optimum technique of the blockades of the ganglion stellatum and lumbar sympathetic trunk is described. On the basis of examinations, indications were found whereby the use of blockade promises success in healing. The local anaesthetics to be used with their different effects are discussed and conclusions on the blockade of the sympathetic nerve are drawn. A broader application as well as further development with relation to indication and the local anaesthetics to be used is recommended
