This paper is devoted to the analysis of the Russian climate change discourse. Three major sectors were examined in this study: the Russian scientific school and the development of its understanding of climate change since the XIX century to the present day; the international dimensions and the involvement of the Russian Federation in the international climate change mitigation process facilitated by the Kyoto Protocol, and the media coverage of the climate change issues as seen by the newspapers: Vedomosti, Rossijskaya Gazeta and Kommersant.
