Einleitung Expandierbare Cages finden als Wirbelkörperersatz nach traumatischer, infektiöser oder tumoröser Destruktion von Wirbelkörpern zunehmende Verbreitung. Unklar ist derzeit die biomechanische Wertigkeit dieser Implantate speziell im Bereich der Halswirbelsäule. Ziel dieser Untersuchung war es demzufolge expandierbare Cages biomechanisch in vitro mit einem nicht expandierbaren Cages in einem zervikalen Korporektomiemodel zu vergleichen. Methoden 40 humane zervikale Wirbelsäulenpräparate (C2-C6) wurden in Flexion, Extension, Rotation und Seitwärtsneigung mittels nicht- destruktiver Steifigkeitsmessung getestet.
