Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht narrative Identitätskonstitution als intersubjektives Geschehen. Damit wendet sie sich gegen ein monologisches Verständnis von Identitätskonstitution und zeigt dessen Probleme auf. Es wird argumentiert, dass diesen Problemen entgangen wird, wenn narrative Identitätskonstitution intersubjektiv verstanden wird. Dementsprechend wird Identitätskonstitution als Anerkennungsprozess erläutert, in dem viele Autorinnen in einem Aushandlungsgeschehen an der Identität einer Person mitwirken.
