This dissertation seeks to investigate the memories of students and teachers about the school practices of Physical Education at Instituto de Educação Assis Brasil (Pelotas / RS) in the 1970s, the height of political repression promoted by the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship. For this, we use the dialogue with the historiography of the History of Education and some of its adjacent themes, such as History of institutions, normalists, political and educational specificities of the period, Physical Education teaching, Oral History methodology and theoretical reflections on memory.
