Las delicias de la hegemonía: metáforas sobre el alimento y el poder político en la Atenas clásica

International audienceThis article studies the metaphorical relationship between food and the exercise of political power in Greek thought. Food and eating are seen as inherent features of political authority, while situations of political dependency are expressed through a discourse of food deprivation. The paper proposes a complementary analysis of the cultural discourses relating to the Persian empire and Athenian hegemony, in order to understand the profoundness and efficacy of the food metaphor of political power.Cet article questionne la métaphore de la nourriture et de l’alimentation pour parler de l'exercice du pouvoir politique dans la culture grecque. Le fait de manger apparaît comme un élément lié à l'exercice du pouvoir politique qui s'oppose aux situations de dépendance politique exprimées par le discours de la privation alimentaire. Cet article propose une analyse complémentaire des interprétations culturalistes qui se réfèrent au système impérialiste perse et à l'hégémonie athénienne, pour comprendre la profondeur et l'efficacité de la métaphore alimentaire comme expression du pouvoir politique
