Consuming harmful amounts of alcohol is considered a contributing factor in over 200 diseases. Women who drink over 10 g and men who drink more than 20 g of pure alcohol daily are already consuming risky amounts. According to GEDA 2014/2015-EHIS data, 13.8% of women and 18.2% of men consume risky amounts of alcohol at least weekly. The consumption of potentially dangerous levels of alcohol is most widespread in the 45-64 age group. Across all age groups, the prevalence of risky alcohol consumption patterns is higher among highly educated women compared to women with a lower level of education.
