Le vaccin H38 a été contrôlé à une et deux doses sur génisses et sur vaches infectées expérimentalement par Brucella abortus. Le taux élevé et persistant des agglutinines et des sensibilisatrices tend à diminuer plus rapidement avec une dose et chez les adultes. A deux doses chez les génisses le vaccin H38 réduit de façon significative le pourcentage des avortements brucelliques, mais la protection contre l’infection est presque aussi bonne avec une seule injection.
