Graphical representation of equilibria in aqueous systems are often useful in studying the dissolution of a solid phase or the precipitation of a consistuent from solution. Potential-pH diagrams and activity-activity diagrams are of great relevance to hydrometallurgy. The applications of such diagrams are discussed. Construction of potential -pH diagrams, particularly the computer programmes are explained
