Highly oriented La0.75Ca0.25MnO3 (LCMO) films have been deposited by pulsed excimer laser ablation technique on (0 0 1) LaAlO3 substrates. These films were implanted with 100 keV nitrogen ions at a dose of 5 x 10(16) ions/cm(2). The implanted films were then annealed at an elevated temperature for 10 h in nitrogen ambient. It is seen that high-dose nitrogen implantation-annealing leads to an increase in the resistivity value over the entire temperature range and reduction in Colossal Magnetoresistance (CMR) peak value.
