PENGEMBANGAN BUKU PENDAMPING PADA PEMBELAJARAN TEMATIK TEMA 8 SUBTEMA 2 KELAS IV SDN 4 CANDIRENGGO

The reality found in the learning process on the field showed that teaching materials is an important component in the learning process. Use of teaching materials at Primary Public School 4 Candirenggo only relied on student books, teacher books and student worksheet from education office. Therefore is necessary to develop companion books thematic learning to see the needs of the components needed in the learning process. This study aims to describe: (1) The process of developing a companion books on thematic learning themes 8 sub-themes 2 for primary school grade four students at SDN 4 Candirenggo. This research used Research and Development type. As for the data source, the researcher selected the first grader from class 4 at Primary Public School 4 Candirenggo for around 30 students. This research was conducted in February 2019. This research was conducted in 5 stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The data collection used in this research is interview, observation, questioner and documentation. The observation results show that the use of teaching materials in the form of a themed companion book can help students understand the material and answer questions in the student book. This makes the desired learning goals achieved.The objectives of this study are: (1) Producing a companion book product thematic learning to help students understand the material in learning through fun learning activities. The result of this research (1) Material validation resulted in percentage score of 92% with a very good predicate. (2) Languange validation resulted in percentage score of 80% with a good predicate. (3) Media validation resulted in percentage score of 89,5% with a very good predicate. (4) Learning validation resulted in percentage score of 86,3% with a very good predicate. (5) The result of student response questionnaire resulted in percentage score of 93% with a very good predicate.The research result of this “companion books” development is suggested to become a reference for other teaching materials
