PENGARUH KOMPOSISI Al-Fe DENGAN PROSES METALURGI SERBUK TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK BAHAN

Powder metallurgy a the process of forming metals that uses basic materials in the form of powdered metal particles. The process of metal forming using powder metallurgy is done by mixing the metal powder elements that are combined then compaction using a mold to improve the mechanical properties of the metal. after the compaction process, the sintering process is carried out. The combination of Al-Fe has the advantage of being resistant to wear and corrosion. Variation in addition of elements Iron added is 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% with a temperature of 5000C on the Vucan type A-550 furnace machine. The gram powder used has a size of 100 mesh. Tests carried out were hardness testing of Rockwell Hardness method and SEM testing. Based on Rockwell Hardness method hardness testing the hardness of Al-Fe alloy metal decreases together with the increase in the addition of Iron powder. The results of SEM testing show that the more the addition of Iron elements, the distribution is not evenly distributed and the value of porosity is greater
