The problem of current sensing is a widespread one in modern electronic devices, mobile devices especially. In audio applications, it is important to have a measurement of the current flowing into the audio speaker to perform an appropriate control and apply safety algorithms. This thesis deals with this problem, starting with a study of some previously used solutions. Furthermore, an investigation for some possible, alternative approaches is done. Eventually the design of one of these architectures is proposed along with conclusions, problems and future development of the IP
