-In this thesis, we propose a new approach to accident risk prediction of heavy goods vehicles. The aim is to warn the driver or the active control system, enough early, to allow them to anticipate and react before entering into an accident-proning situation. The risk prediction is based on the system vehicle-driver-infrastructure uncertainties. These latters are modelled by random quantities, leading to evaluate the risk by the probability of exceeding a critical safety level. However, due to the complexity of the system, the embedded computation of this probability is not obvious with the classical methods like Monte-Carlo simulations.
