GAMBARAN MOTIVASI IBU DALAM KUNJUNGAN BALITA KE POSYANDUDI POSYANDU DESA KARANGPATIHAN BALONG PONOROGO

One of the causes why the health condition of community in Indonesia low is the community have not functioned the facilities of health maximally including Posyandu. This is influenced by the low level of mother’s knowledge about the function of Posyandu. In 2008, there were 2,844,447 children under five years old in East Java. From that number, there were 2,135,521 children or 75.8% coming to Posyandu. This study is aimed at knowing the description of mother’s motivation in sending the children under five years old to Posyandu in Karang Patihan village, Balong sub-district, Ponorogo regency. The design of this study is descriptive. The population is all mothers having children under five years old consisting 225 respondents. The technique of sampling uses simple random sampling with number of samples 45 respondents. The technique of data obtaining is questionnaire. While the data analysis uses T score. From the result of the study towards 45 respondents shows that most of respondents or 29 respondents (64.44%) have low motivation and almost a half or 16 respondents (35.56%) have high motivation. The result of this study is recommended for the next researchers to study about the related case with more samples. Key words: mother’s motivation, sending children under five years old, Posyand
