The article's goal is to describe the meaning assigned to mental health by a group of women who have lived in political violence contexts. 1his way, the research methodology was developed within the framework of a university extension experience around weave, memory and mental health. Participative observation, focus groups and documentary material review from the extension project (woven narratives and Proceedings) was carried out, following a comprenhensive paradigm and a qualitative perspective. The analysis was guided by emergent inductive logic. During the process, respect for autonomy and participating women confidentiality was saveguarded.
