Una salida ética a la crisis ambiental contemporánea

The primary purpose of this research is to reflect on the current environmental crisis, which is framed in the context of two major problems faced by humankind today; namely, an unquestioned search for economic growth and an ecological crisis. Before writing this paper, a thorough bibliographic review was conducted. As a result, it is evident that the current environmental crisis is part of a crisis of the civilizing process to which humankind as a whole is subject. It is also observed that a solution to this crisis is not legal, scientific, or technological, but rather ethical and political in nature. In other words, it is linked to the ways and manners in which man should behave and assert his place in the world. It is only when this stated aspect is understood that one can come to think about the advent and establishment of a more humane relationship between people and our planet Earth. Therefore, this paper discusses concerns that stem from the problems which have arisen out of the relationship between man and nature, because it has been assumed to be a one-dimensional relationship – and this has led us to believe that we are owners and possessors. The findings of this research enable us to draw the conclusion that we can establish alternative ways to live and thrive in the world if we adopt a different world view, one that does not subjugate nature to capital value.El objetivo principal de esta investigación es reflexionar sobre la crisis ambiental contemporánea, la cual se inscribe en el contexto de dos problemas que padece la humanidad actualmente: 1) la búsqueda incuestionable del crecimiento económico y 2) la crisis ecológica. Para el propósito de este artículo se adoptó la revisión bibliográfica. Como resultado se observa que la crisis ambiental contemporánea hace parte de una crisis civilizatoria con la que se confronta la humanidad en su conjunto y que la salida a esta crisis no es de naturaleza jurídica ni tampoco de orden científico o tecnológico, sino que es de naturaleza ético-política, es decir, de las formas y las maneras del hombre conducirse y afirmarse en el mundo. Sólo si se entiende este aspecto así enunciado, podrá pensarse en el advenimiento y constitución de una relación más humana de los seres humanos con el planeta Tierra. Por lo tanto, las inquietudes que se expresan en este artículo parten de la problematización a la que da lugar la relación del hombre respecto de la naturaleza - ya que esta ha sido asumida unidimensionalmentey lo ha llevado a creerse dueño y poseedor. La investigación permite concluir que bajo una égida distinta a la del sojuzgamiento de la naturaleza por valorizar capital se pueden establecer formas alternativas de morar en y cultivar el mundo
