This paper discusses the composition, structure, and operation of the Bolivarian Council of State. In order to obtain the required information, the head researcher and the students who served as assistant researchers availed exclusively of documentary sources. Thus, documents related to the time of South American Independence and to Simón Bolívar’s life were consulted. Basically, two methods were employed in this investigation—historical and comparative.
