Óxido de cério com partículas de tamanho nanométrico foi preparado pela técnica da precipitação utilizando como agente precipitante o hidróxido de amônio ou o ácido oxálico. O principal objetivo deste trabalho foi a obtenção de pós nanométricos de CeO2 com altos valores de área de superfície específica. Os pós calcinados foram analisados por adsorção gasosa para a determinação da área de superfície específica, por difração de raios X para verificação de fases estruturais e determinação do tamanho médio de cristalito, por espectroscopia de infravermelho com transformada de Fourier, por microscopia eletrônica de varredura para observação de tamanho e forma das partículas, e por espalhamento laser para a determinação da distribuição do tamanho...
