Peningkatan SDM Pariwisata Melalui Sertifikasi Kompetensi dalam Menghadapi MEA: Peluang Dan Tantangan

This article reveals the importance of competency certification for tourism human resources in the face of the MEA. This competency certification scheme provides equal opportunities between tourism workforce who have low education and higher education. Competence someone who acquired through training or work experience, can be compared with higher education. Indonesia Qualification Framework (KKNI) concept that can make this happen and supported Indonesia National Competency Standard (SKKNI) and Competency based Training (PBK) as its components. KKNI also used as the mutual recognition agreement (MRA) of qualifications countries other ASEAN members. MRA has been established in the field of tourism is CACT, ACCSTP, and AQRF. However, Indonesia has a challenge in the implementation of competency certification. Currently, there are 375 thousand workers and that tourism has a competency certification 121 thousand people. SKKNI and KKNI not been fully applied in the world of work, in addition to the number of LSPs and assessors are still low for the ratio of workers who do not have a certificate of competence in tourism
