Sporadični karcinom debelog crijeva je jedan od najčešćih zloćudnih tumora u svijetu. Receptor TLR4 je ključni regulator koji pomaže u održavanju ravnoteže između mikrobioma i imunološkog sustava crijeva. Poremećena homeostaza uslijed promijenjene ekspresije TLR4 bi mogla biti ključna značajka u patogenezi karcinoma debelog crijeva. Poznata su dva polimorfizma gena TLR4 +896A/G i +1196C/T za koje je pokazana povezanost s nastankom tumora. Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je ispitati postoji li povezanost polimorfizama +896A/G i +1196C/T sa sklonošću za obolijevanje od sporadičnog karcinoma debelog crijeva te postoji li povezanost s preživljenjem oboljelih.
