Razvoj postupaka za objektivno vrednovanje kvalitete 3D slike je od velikog značaja za 3D sustave jer se uporabom tih mjera mogu izbjeći skupa i dugotrajna subjektivna ispitivanja kvalitete slike. U radu je potrebno obraditi temeljne objektivne mjere za ocjenu kvalitete slike u 2D sustavima koje pokazuju visok stupanj korelacije s rezultatima subjektivnih ispitivanja. Objasniti specifičnosti 3D slike u odnosu na 2D slike i definirati parametre koji određuju kvalitetu u 3D sustavima. Odabrati mjere koje bi se mogle prilagoditi za primjenu u 3D sustavima te predložiti preinake na postojećim mjerama kako bi se omogućilo ocjenjivanje kvalitete stereoskoposkih slika.
