Koenzim NAD+ (nikotinamid adenin dinukleotid) koristi se u brojnim biokatalitičkim oksidacijskim reakcijama u kojima se NAD+ reducira u NADH (reducirani oblik nikotinamid adenin dinukleotida). Budući da je cijena koenzima NAD+ iznimno visoka, važno ga je regenerirati. U ovom istraživanju provedena je regeneracija koenzima NAD+ putem reverzibilne oksidacije etanola do acetaldehida u mikroreaktorima izrađenim iz različitih materijala, upotrebom imobiliziranih i slobodnih enzima, te imobiliziranih i slobodnih permeabiliziranih stanica kvasca.
