Bei der Betrachtung von Einzelrisiken in der Personenversicherung können Verweildauereffekte auf zwei Ebenen auftreten. Einerseits gibt es Verweildauerabhängigkeiten von Übergangswahrscheinlichkeiten. Andererseits gibt es aber auch den Bedarf, verweildauerabhängige Versicherungsleistungen anzubieten. Mit Hilfe des vorgestellten Modells, basierend auf semi-Markov Prozessen, können Verweildauereffekte direkt modelliert werden.
