Based on a field research in Spain and prior reports, this study compares the environmentalimpact of cucumber production and import. Calculations for this impact are measured bycarbon footprint and are based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method as well as onthe LCA actor analysis. The presented results consist of my diploma thesis (in progress) atJohannes Kepler University, Linz/Austria and a joint work (published report) with ChalmersUniversity of Technology at the division of Environmental Systems Analysis,G\uf6teborg/Sweden.
