This project aims at documenting aspects of everyday life in Indonesia during the 21st century by creating an audiovisual archive that consists of recordings made in eight different places throughout the Indonesian archipelago. They are not a statistical representation of ‘Indonesia’, but open different windows on everyday life in Indonesia: the city, the provincial and harbor town, and rural, uphill, coastal and river areas. The project started in 2003. Each year recordings are made in two places over a period of ten days, which results in 25-30 hours of recordings.
